As part of my final year at the Clothing Design School of Fribourg, I collaborated with three colleagues to create a collection concept. This project allowed us to apply all the skills acquired during our throughout our studies. Each member designed their own outfit while ensuring consistency with the project’s artistic direction. The final presentation date was set from the beginning, with intermediate deadlines to track project progress.
A budget of 150.- per person was allocated, and we were responsible for managing our expenses or covering any additional costs if needed.
Photoshoot
We did the photoshoot in Bern, Switzerland, at a skatepark near an alternative cultural center, in the middle of winter. This location was chosen for its colorful graffiti and authentic street vibe. The photos were taken by Samuel Vez, one of our member, Samuel Vez.
Sketches
I drew inspiration from K-pop music videos and their fashion, as well as reimagined schoolgirl uniforms.
Project Requirements
As part of our collection concept project, we had to complete and present seven key components, evaluated based on quality:
Fashion Design: Creating outfit sketches that aligned with the theme while collaborating with other group members.
Presentation: Showcasing the concept, stylistic choices, and inspirations behind each creation.
Pattern Making: Developing garment patterns.
Forms: Filling out technical and logistical production forms.
Garment Construction: Producing the garments within the specified timeframe, including cutting and sewing.
Budgeting: Calculating a detailed budget, including production costs for each piece.
Concept Presentation: Presenting the entire collection, including inspirations, challenges, experiences, and reflections.
Each stage was evaluated based on creativity, precision, and technical expertise.
